I know I haven’t posted yet about Alice turning one last week, it’s because I’m a little…emotional over it. How did my baby girl turn into a toddler so quickly? It doesn’t seem like an entire year has passed since we brought our sweet Alice home from the hospital. I’ve been rocking her extra long and letting her sleep on me while I just stare at her. Her beautiful eyelashes and those sweet cheeks of hers. I want to keep her little forever.
But, she started taking real steps last week. She’s up to eight steps at a time. And they’re usually to the great loves of her life: food, daddy, Eli, or her tiny naked baby. Toys that Emmy doesn’t want her playing with are also great motivators. My love for the most perfect baby shoes started when Emaline was a baby. {Seriously, look at this post with 6 month old Emaline.} And since I’m a hoarder, I saved most of Emaline’s Freshly Picked moccasins, so now Alice gets to wear them. They wear nicely, are difficult for a baby in a shopping cart to get off and toss on the floor in Target, and look so stinking cute on baby feet.
Now that Alice is starting to walk, I love that the soft soles make it easy for her to take those wobbly steps without tripping her, like hard sole shoes tend to do.
Freshly Picked moccasins were part of so many of both my girls’ big moments. Baptisms, birthdays, visits to Santa and the Easter bunny, first steps, holidays, and more. And they’re part of so many everyday moments, too…at the park, at Target, at the zoo, at church, or even at home.
